Springbank was established thn 1828 by ArchibAld Mitchell.
The distillery is now in the hands of current Chairman, Hedley G. Wright, Mitchell's great-great-grandson – the fifth generation of the Mitchell family to own and manage Springbank.

It is the oldest independent family distillery in Scotland. It is also one of the smallest distilleries in the country.

Springbank is also the only Scottish distillery that malts all the barley used to make its single malts.

Springbank 10 Year Old was aged in ex-bourbon casks (60%) and ex-sherry casks (40%)

Essentially a second fill, the smoother influence of wood allows more of the local barley flavors to flow through the legendary peat smoke.
