After a scientific training in biology, his winegrowing history begins with the chance of encounters, according to the internships and the various jobs he has held. Frédéric LEPRINCE knew that one day he would have a business of his own, but first he had to learn, discover, observe and do.
For about twenty years, he discovered all the facets of the profession. Vineyard work in Beaujolais vintages, the art of Bordeaux blend, purchase of grapes and vinification from great terroirs in Burgundy ... all these moments will be decisive in that each will bring their stone to their House, step by step.
Still marked by their spirit and their know-how, here are some decisive meetings of its first life.
Frédéric LEPRINCE settled for ten years in Nantoux, a small wine-growing village in the Hautes-Côtes de Beaune, where he had the chance to buy an old farmhouse, a heritage witness to a time not so distant 'we lived in near autarky in the heights. A barn transformed into a cellar, a cool cellar which was no doubt used to store vegetables, an old bread oven that warms the body and provides a little comfort after a hard day of harvesting ...
Chablis Grand Cru Les Clos Joseph Drouhin 2020 75CL
With 80 hectares, Domaine Joseph Drouhin is one of the largest in the region. It is distributed throughout Burgundy: Chablis (38 hectares), Côte de Nuits and Côte de Beaune, (38.5 hectares), Côte Chalonnaise (3.5 hectares), and comprises a majority of Grands Crus and Premiers Crus, planted of the two Burgundy grape varieties: Pinot Noir and Chardonnay.
Location: Les Clos is the largest and arguably most famous climat in Chablis, located between Valmur to the west and Blanchot to the east. Its exposure gives the wine a characteristic generosity and power.
History & traditions: Considered the cradle of Chablis, Les Clos was spotted in the Middle Ages by wine-growing monks. The name “Les Clos” probably evokes the surrounding walls that they had erected to demarcate the plot, which have now disappeared for centuries. It was hit hard by phylloxera at the end of the 1960th century, like the entire region. In the XNUMXs, Robert Drouhin was one of the first owners of Beaune to undertake its rebirth.
Type of soil: The “Kimmeridgian” limestone soil contains countless marine microfossils in a whitish cement, testifying to its oceanic origin hundreds of millions of years ago. This marine characteristic gives Chablis wines a unique and inimitable flavor.
Two brothers united by the same passion for wine, that is the very essence of this company. They take the liberty of going beyond the conventions of the appellation while preserving the unique identity of each of their terroirs. The brotherhood that binds the eight people working in this area reflects their commitment to sharing over a glass of Chablis, whether big or small...
The Chablis vineyard is one of the oldest in France. Over time and all over the world, its white wines, made from the Chardonnay grape variety, have acquired an extraordinary reputation. Distributed on both sides of the “Le Serein” river, the appellation's vines extend over 17 communes. The unique character of the wines is given by the soil, essentially of the “Kimmeridgian” type where sediments composed in particular of large quantities of small fossil ostrea virgula oysters were deposited.

Chablis Grand Cru Les Preuses La Chablisienne 2015 75 Magnum
Since 1923, in Chablis in Burgundy, the meticulous work of the winegrowers associated under the banner of La Chablisienne has given birth to wines that time continues to magnify. Coming from a fantastic of “climates”, they reveal pure mineral mosaic emotions...
This Grand Cru, a very rare wine, comes from a Kimmeridgian clay-limestone terroir and old vines located on the right bank of the “Le Serein” river. The plots are located in the upper part of the climate, to the west. It has been carefully matured for over a year, on fine lies in vats and small barrels. This wine is long and racial, it offers a “deep” mineral emotion of which the fruits and flowers are only the accessories. A local jewel to be discovered over time.
A very nice wine to discover for your aperitifs with friends.
