COTES DU RHONE CUVEE LAW DOMAINE SALADIN 2020
The Domaine Saladin is located in Saint Marcel d'Ardèche, southern village of the Southern Côtes du Rhône, halfway between Montélimar and Avignon, on the right bank of the Rhone.
Elisabeth, Marie-Laurence, Louis and Annick Saladin are at the head of Domaine Saladin, a family estate passed down from father to son and from father to daughter since 1422.
18 hectares and 13 Rhone grape varieties of the estate offer the particularity of having always been harvested by hand, grown and vinified in organic.
“Loï”, the red Côtes du Rhône Saladin evokes the creator of this cuvée: Louis Saladin. In Provençal, Loï is the nickname of Louis. It is also a tribute to Saint Louis, "Looïs", opponent of Sultan Saladin during the crusades of the XNUMXth century.

COTES DU RHONE THE TWO ALBION CHATEAU DE SAINT COSME 2020
GIGONDAS Cuvée Des Blaches 2020
Field of ESPIERS
It is in 1989 that the area of Espiers was born in Vacqueyras, when Philippe Cartoux decided to walk in the footsteps of his grandparents who owned a vineyard in the family since 1879.
The vineyard now covers 9,5 hectares including 3 to Gigondas, 4 en Cotes du Rhone et 2,5 en Côtes-du-Rhône-Villages Sablet. The grape variety is largely dominated by the main 3 Rhone grape varieties, namely Grenache, Syrah and Mourvèdre. The vines are in struggle and receive no chemical treatment. In general, the gestures are all part of a logic of respect for the soil and the environment, with yields particularly lower than 35 hl / ha.
Harvesting is manual for traditional winemaking and aging in oak barrels. Philippe Cartoux likes to produce robust, gourmet but also refined wines. Proof of the quality of its work, Lavinia boutiques offer its wines.
This wine consists of a single plot of vines in the commune of Gigondas.
The vine is aged 40 and composed of 70% Grenache and 30% Syrah. The harvest is manual and often the grapes picked are slightly overripe in order to obtain wines more full-bodied.
The vinification is done with a very high temperature (+ 34 ° c) in order to extract a maximum of aromas and color. The harvest is complete to allow a good homogeneity of the grape marc and long pumping over.
This wine is then aged in barrels for about 12 months, then bottled without sticking or filtration.
CROZES HERMITAGE BLACK ETOILE DOMAIN MELODY 2020
Now unavoidable, the vintage Etoile Noire comes from vines older than 50 years and raised for a year. The Black Star 2018 is a balanced and powerful wine at the same time, offering beautiful aromas of ripe fruit and black cherry. A great success.
The vineyard is planted on 3 very different types of soil:
The objective of the domain is toexpress the authenticity of the terroirs, this involves different approaches: - A reasoned fight for phytosanitary treatments: contact products such as Sulfur and Copper are preferred
- The use of organic fertilizers - The absence of weed killers and soil cultivation throughout the vineyard for balanced vines - Naturally controlled yields
- Manual harvesting with a first sorting at the plot
CONFIDENTIAL FIGUIERE RED PROVENCE DIMENSIONS 2017
Dominating the Golden Islands, in the heart of an 85 hectare vineyard cultivated in organic farming for almost 40 years, Figuière is a family house which draws from this precious nature and preserved all its aromatic richness, its mineral power and its inspiration to create, between tradition and innovation, collections of "signed" wines full of sun and love of the land of Provence.
Grapes Mourvèdre, Syrah
This wine is made from grapes harvested on the Estate, benefiting from the ECOCERT organic certification of the vineyard, acquired since 1979.
Vinification Syrah is slightly overripe to be harvested at the same time as the later Mourvèdre.
Destemming
Fermentation for 30 to 40 days of the 2 grape varieties together. Manual punching down. Pneumatic pressing. Selection of presses and filling.
Aging from 10 to 14 months depending on the vintage, in 300 liter barrels, medium heating, in oak from the Bertranges, Tronçais and Allier forests. Batonnage, racking.
100% Serine (old syrah).
Whole harvest. Schists and Micaschists in places called Semons, But de Mont, Les Bercheries, Maison Rouge, Rozier, Cote Rozier, Besset and Bodin.
Aged for twelve months: 30% in new barrels – 70% in barrels of one wine.
What a vintage in Cote Rotie! It has been a long time since I had obtained such wines. When you taste all the barrels and everything is great, it's like visualizing the color palette that a painter will use. The different localities express themselves in such a precise and beautiful way that you wonder if you are not on the greatest terroir in the world. The mica schists are capable in 2019 of producing a finesse imbued with charm and mystery, the wines exude wild blackberry, pencil lead, smoked ham, iodine: pure magic. Then on the palate, the textured sweetness blends with the natural freshness of serine when it is grown in its northern limit. This 2019 is not to be missed under any circumstances as it evokes its glorious predecessors of 1991, 1999 and 2007. I set out to discover the Cote Rotie in 1997: after 24 vintages of practice in this wonderful terroir, I believe that the slightly warmer vintages (like 2019) are fine here. Moreover, it suffices to refer to the primary and literal meaning of “Cote-Rôtie” to be convinced of this.
