GULFI ROSSOJBLEO ROSSO 2021
Grape variety: Néro D'avola
Production: Sicily
The GULFI company has eliminated the use of all forms of chemical fertilization and only uses manure or grows legumes in the vineyard to enrich the soil with nitrogen. The dry and warm microclimate of south-eastern Sicily also protects the vineyards from insects and mold without having to resort to insecticides or pesticides.
The choice of these vines depends on two factors. GULFI has chosen tradition to preserve and enhance the Sicilian wine heritage over time. GULFI chooses quality, because the native Sicilian vines have demonstrated their ability to produce excellent wines, typical of the region, adapting, for centuries, to the unusual and unique Sicilian territory.
The most common is Nero d'Avola, a vine that produces naturally warm and very fragrant wines, used in the past to improve weak and sour wines from other countries. The other native vines cultivated by GULFI are: Frappato, Nerello Mascalese, Nerello Cappuccio, Carricante and Albanello, grape varieties which, alone or blended, give birth to GULFI wines.
Chardonnay has adapted well to the Sicilian soil climate in areas with high temperature variability and without excessive heat, such as medium to high hills and the slopes of Etna. Under these conditions, it matures gradually, improving its complexity and enriching the variety of its aromas.
Carricante, a rare vine native to Etna, is widespread at the highest altitudes of the volcano and in the region of Ragusa where it is in contact with other local vines such as Albanello. Late variety, cultivated like a small tree and correctly vinified, it produces white wines of great stature, with a fresh and complex nose of apple, orange blossom and anise, as well as a typical acidity that gives it structure. and longevity.
The grapes, harvested in early September, are vinified in steel vats, where they can rest briefly. The wine is bottled in the spring following the harvest, after malolactic fermentation, and left to age for a few months in the bottle before being put on the market.

LAMBRUSCO REGGIANO DOLCE PETTIROSSO
Lambrusco consists exclusively of the Lambrusco grape variety. The grapes are placed in tanks for fermentation.
Winegrowers do not wait until all the sugar is turned into alcohol to bottle the Lambrusco. Once locked, these residual sugars cause a second fermentation.
This gives a naturally sweet and slightly beading wine.
With its red dress and fine bubbles, the Lambrusco surprises.
Produced in the north of Italy, in the great plains of Emilie around Modena, this cuvée Pettirosso (Rouge Gorge) is a sweet wine (Dolce) slightly sparkling (frizzante).
