4 generations since 1925 have followed one another at the bedside of the estate's vines in order to get the best out of them.
At Domaine Neumeyer, well aware of the multi-factor character of an authentic wine, each element is taken into account and optimized as much as possible. In the vineyard, all the plots are managed according to the teachings of organic viticulture, with superficial scratching, native flora grassing, manual harvesting with sorting, plot selection and measured yields. In the cellar, gentle pressing, sorting table, minimalist vinification at the discretion of the winegrower, indigenous yeasts and long aging on lees are all ways of preserving the potential of the raw material from grapes harvested at maturity.
Literally “valley of the brothers”, facing south-east, this terroir on marl-limestone substrate of Muschelkalk benefits from an average slope in the heart of an amphitheater, resulting in a strong ripening of the grapes and favorable to late harvest. Located in the heart of the Molsheim hillsides, the Grand Cru Bruderthal has been recognized for its wines since the XNUMXth century. The term Bruderthal refers to the Carthusian monks who owned vines in the locality. The wines are characterized by two key words: salinity and amplitude.
