Vietnam Sampan White Rum 70cl
White Rum Sampan vietnam 70cl 43°

Sampan white rum is a 100% Vietnamese rum.

It is in Hoi An, on the central coast of Vietnam, that the Distillerie d'Indochine was founded in 2018 by three friends in love with Asia and above all passionate about spirits. Antoine, Ian and Julien combine more than 35 years of experience in the field of wines and spirits. Their attachment to Vietnam and their common passion for rum gave birth to the Distillerie d'Indochine. Located 15 km south of the city of Hoi An, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, the distillery is between the sea and sugar cane fields, a place conducive to the production of pure cane juice rum which also offers optimal aging conditions.
The distillery works closely with local cane growers. Each cane is selected on foot according to precise specifications.

COSTA RICA

Centenario rums were born in Costa Rica in 1985 under the leadership of Gabriel Diez. In this small Central American country, the production of spirits has been a state monopoly since 1850. Gabriel Diez therefore selects his cane eaux-de-vie with the greatest care within the Fabrica Nacional de Liquor, the one of the oldest operating distilleries in the Americas. With the complicity of Susana Masis, he then takes care of their aging in the Centenario cellars.

Produced from a distillation of molasses in an iron still and cane honey in a column still, this ron has aged in solera for 25 years in American oak barrels ex bourbon barrels then in sherry barrels. It draws from it a large aromatic panel in a suave, greedy and almost pastry register. The very light alcohol accentuates the fruity aromas of young rums while over the sips settle in the spices, caramel and wood.

Saint-Etienne was built on the foundations of "La Maugée", a sugar refinery whose land extended at the beginning of the 400th century over more than XNUMX hectares, from Gros-Morne to Saint-Joseph. The architectural ensemble, made up of the mansion, dominating the distillery and the old workers' huts, testifies to the housing system specific to Martinique.

In 1882, Saint-Etienne was bought by Amédée Aubéry, a young captain of industry who would become one of the emblematic figures of the Martinican economy. He transformed the sugar refinery into an agricultural distillery and embarked on the modernization of infrastructure. He enlarged the factory and provided it with a magnificent façade punctuated by 28 windows with arched arches which provide optimal ventilation to the building. Railways are installed on the site of the distillery: draft animals pull wagons that transport the sugar cane. The hydraulic energy is supplied by the Lézarde river thanks to a stone canal which crosses the Creole garden.

In 1909, the property passed into the hands of the Simonnet family, who developed the activity of the distillery until its decline at the end of the 80s. The estate was bought in 1994 by Yves and José Hayot who relaunched the Saint- brand. Etienne and undertake the restoration and enhancement of the architectural heritage of the dwelling.
